WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE?

My Solar Installer
is Gone
Your original installer went out of business, stopped servicing your area, or is no longer available. We can evaluate the existing system and help you determine what it needs to operate at full capacity.

My Solar
Isn't Producing
Production dropped, stopped completely, or doesn't seem to match your expectations. We'll investigate the system to determine what's happening.

I Have a Complex Solar System. I need Advanced Troubleshooting.
Some solar problems aren't solved by replacing the first component showing an error. We can take a deeper look at the system to identify the root cause and determine the right repair.

I Have a Commercial
Solar System
Troubleshooting and repair for commercial solar installations including production issues, inverter faults, communication problems, and more complex system configurations.

ORPHAN SOLAR SYSTEMS
YOUR INSTALLER MAY BE GONE.
YOUR SYSTEM ISN'T.
Solar companies close, change ownership, leave markets, or stop servicing previously installed systems. That can leave homeowners and businesses with equipment on the roof but nobody to call when something stops working.
Wild Peak Energy can step in and help.
We troubleshoot and service existing solar systems that have been abandoned. We'll start by understanding the system you have, reviewing available monitoring and equipment information, and diagnosing the problem before recommending a suitable repair.

COMPLEX SOLAR PROBLEMS
WHEN THE OBVIOUS FIX
ISN'T THE RIGHT SOLUTION.
A fault code can tell you where a problem appeared. It doesn't always tell you where or why it happened.
Solar systems combine DC power, AC power, Inverters, energy storage units, optimizers or microinverters, rapid shutdown equipment, communications, and utility interaction. A problem in one part of the system can sometimes appear as a symptom somewhere else.
Our approach is to troubleshoot the system as a whole and work toward identifying the root cause- not simply replacing components until the problem disappears.

COMMERCIAL SOLAR SERVICE
COMMERCIAL SOLAR PROBLEMS REQUIRE A DIFFERENT LEVEL OF TROUBLESHOOTING
Commercial solar systems can involve multiple inverters, large string configurations, three-phase electrical systems, monitoring and communication networks, revenue grade metering, complex interconnections and equipment spread across large facilities.
When production drops or equipment fails, finding the root cause requires understanding both the solar equipment and the electrical system behind it.
Wild Peak Energy provides troubleshooting and repair support for existing commercial solar installations throughout Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer Counties.

HOW TROUBLESHOOTING WORKS
1
Understand the Problem.
We gather information about the system, symptoms, monitoring history and previous repairs.
2
Diagnose the System.
Our technicians test the appropriate electrical and solar components to determine what's actually happening
3
Identify the Root Cause.
Rather than assuming the first fault is the entire problem, we work to understand what's causing it.
4
Explain your Options.
If the problem can be corrected during the service visit, we'll address it when appropriate. If additional equipment or work is required, we'll explain the findings and provide the next steps
5
Repair & Verify.
Once the repairs are completed, the system is tested to verify proper operation.
WHAT IF THE EQUIPMENT
IS UNDER WARRANTY?
When a failed inverter, optimizer or other component may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty, we'll work through the applicable manufacturer's process to obtain replacement equipment.
If replacement equipment is not covered by warranty, we'll explain the situation and provide you with the options to approve the necessary replacement equipment and repair.
REAL SOLAR TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIR PROJECTS CASE STUDIES

Solar Edge System - No/Low Production
The Issue: The SolarEdge inverter had failed internally, resulting in no solar production and system error codes.
How it was Discovered: The homeowner noticed a red light on the inverter and decided to investigate it.
What we did: We processed the warranty claim through SolarEdge and replaced the failed inverter with the warranty equipment provided by SolarEdge. Restored the system to full production.
Project Location: Roseville, California

Aurora Inverter Failure
The Issue: The original Aurora inverter had failed, halting solar production.
How it was Discovered: The homeowner received an unexpectedly high true-up bill and discovered the solar system was no longer producing power.
What we did: We replaced the failed Aurora with a qualified and compatible inverter with the existing solar system. Restored production without replacing the entire system, and provided the customer with monitoring capabilities.
Project Location: Serrano Community in El Dorado Hills, California.
*We are also seeing identical inverter failures in the Blackstone Community in
El Dorado Hills, California.

Complex Off-Grid Systems
The Issue: The customer was experiencing power outages, inconsistent solar production from their Outback Power System, poor installation workmanship, incorrect settings, and system components that were not operating together properly. twelve Simpliphi batteries were installed but sitting idle and not integrated into the system.
How it was Discovered: Homeowner was aware of the ongoing issues and was looking for a contractor willing to take on the responsibility of the system's service, correct the existing problems, and help bring it to its full operating potential.
What we did: We cleaned up and secured the wiring, corrected system connections, brought the additional 12 batteries online, and reconfigured the system to better meet the customer energy and backup power goals.
The result: Wild Peak Energy continues to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the complete solar, battery and generator system. With a complex system and limited manufacturer support, ongoing optimization allows us to adjust operation as seasons change and customers energy priorities evolve.
Project Location: Granite Bay, California

Commercial Solar Production Issue
The Issue: A commercial customer reported no production from one of their solar inverters. Their onsite electrical team had traced the problem to the inverter breaker, which repeatedly tripped despite multiple attempts to reset it.
How it was Discovered: I recreated the failure and performed system-level troubleshooting. Testing confirmed that the breaker was responding correctly to the electrical condition. Further investigation revealed that the breaker had previously been replaced with one that was undersized for the application.
What we Found: Rather than assuming a repeatedly tripping breaker was defective, my troubleshooting identified the underlying installation issue causing it to trip.
The result: I explained my findings and the required corrective action to the facility manager. At their request, the repair was left in the care of their onsite team to resolve.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can you repair a solar system you didn’t install? Yes. Wild Peak Energy provides solar troubleshooting and repair for existing residential and commercial solar systems, including systems installed by other contractors. We can diagnose production problems, inverter faults, optimizer or microinverter issues, monitoring and communication problems, electrical faults, and other system concerns. We’ll start by understanding the system and the problem before recommending the appropriate repair.
Do you work with manufacturer warranties? Yes. When troubleshooting identifies a failed inverter, optimizer, microinverter, or other component that may still be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, we can work through the applicable manufacturer process when appropriate. If the equipment is no longer covered, we’ll explain the available repair or replacement options before additional equipment is purchased.
What happens if my solar installer went out of business? If your original solar installer closed, changed ownership, or is no longer providing service, Wild Peak Energy can evaluate and service your existing system. These are sometimes referred to as orphan solar systems. We can review the equipment, monitoring information, error codes, system configuration, and electrical installation to determine why the system isn’t working properly and what it needs to get back into operation.
Why does my solar inverter keep faulting? A recurring inverter fault does not always mean the inverter itself is defective. The cause could be elsewhere in the solar or electrical system, including DC voltage or string problems, ground or isolation faults, AC voltage conditions, breaker or interconnection issues, communication problems, improper settings, or another failed component. Advanced solar troubleshooting looks beyond the fault code to determine what is actually causing the inverter to shut down.
Why isn’t my solar system producing power? A solar system can stop producing for many reasons, including a failed inverter, optimizer or microinverter problems, tripped breakers, DC string faults, rapid-shutdown issues, communication failures, incorrect settings, wiring problems, or utility-side conditions. Rather than assuming the first fault code is the entire problem, we troubleshoot the system to identify the underlying cause of the production loss.
Can you troubleshoot commercial solar systems? Yes. Wild Peak Energy provides commercial solar troubleshooting and repair for existing photovoltaic systems. Commercial systems can involve multiple inverters, large DC strings, three-phase electrical systems, monitoring and communications equipment, revenue-grade metering, and more complex utility interconnections. We troubleshoot both the solar equipment and the electrical infrastructure supporting it to identify the root cause of production problems.
Can you troubleshoot SolarEdge systems? Yes. We troubleshoot and repair SolarEdge solar systems, including inverter faults, error codes, optimizer issues, communication and monitoring problems, and systems experiencing low or no production. When a failed SolarEdge component may qualify for a manufacturer warranty, we can work through the applicable warranty process when appropriate.
“Can you troubleshoot complex solar system problems?” Yes. Wild Peak Energy specializes in advanced troubleshooting for complex solar and energy systems, including problems that may be intermittent, involve multiple components, or have not been resolved by previous repair attempts.
Can you replace a failed solar inverter? Yes. If testing confirms that a solar inverter has failed, we can determine the appropriate replacement options based on the existing array, system design, electrical requirements, and equipment compatibility. When possible, we look for a solution that allows the homeowner or business to keep the existing solar system producing without unnecessarily replacing equipment that is still serviceable.
How much does solar troubleshooting cost? The cost of solar troubleshooting depends on the size and complexity of the system and the time required to diagnose the problem. We begin with troubleshooting by qualified personnel to locate the cause of the issue. If it is a straightforward problem that can reasonably be corrected during the service visit, we may be able to address it at that time. If additional repairs, replacement equipment, or extensive work are required, we’ll explain what we found and provide the next steps before proceeding.
